Making A Turn

Romans 2:4 Or are you [so blind as to] trifle with and presume upon and despise and underestimate the wealth of His kindness and forbearance and long-suffering patience? Are you unmindful or actually ignorant [of the fact] that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repent (to change your mind and inner man to accept God’s will)?

His goodness shines through whenever we are in our madness, refusing to let go of a perceived injustice. Case in point. I was upset about something and caused someone harm by my behavior. I wasn’t going to apologize because in my mind they had a part in starting the whole ball rolling. When I was out one day running errands a little old lady showed me some favor, where I didn’t have to stand in a long line. While I was waiting the Lord told me to get her name and pray for her. Once I had transacted my business, she was next. I thanked her again and she told me she did it in Christ. I asked what her name was and told her I would be praying for her. I saw God’s fingerprint all over that and I immediately went and apologized to the person I had wronged, and surprisingly they in turn apologized to me for their part and we’re both good now. Our text makes it plain how occurrences like this make us want to turn and accept God’s will for our life. God’s will for us is that we enjoy the good life, which He has prearranged for us to live (Ephesians 2:10 AMPC). The path to the good life is a walk by faith (2 Corinthians 5:7 AMPC) and faith works by love (Galatians 5:6 AMPC). Our Father wants nothing but the best for us so go ahead, make that turn today and start enjoying the benefits a relationship with Christ offers.
