Running Your Race

Hebrews 12:1 Therefore then, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us,

We all have a course that God has designed specifically for us to run. You have been appointed and anointed to do what only you can do. Nobody can do what you can do like you (Philippians 1:6 AMPC). By the same token you can’t compare yourself to anyone else and the course that they are on (Galatians 6:4 AMPC). When we start comparing assignments it opens the door for jealousy, envy and strife to come in. We see people at certain stages of life without knowing the price they really had to pay to get there. If you listen to the story of some of the greatest men and women of God, they all tell of struggles and challenges early in their life that they overcame and how it was God that brought them out (2 Timothy 3:11-12 AMPC) and they now have a platform to tell the world of His goodness. You have the same type of story to tell, so go tell it. You might not get a worldwide platform as some, but you can surely hold down your corner and bloom where you’re planted. There are people in your circle of influence that need to hear from God through you (2 Corinthians 3:2-3 MSG). That’s your race so go run it and run it well!
