Matthew 22:39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as [you do] yourself.
Recently my daughter asked what is a circuit. As I explained it, I told her how the box on the garage wall distributes the electrical current coming in from the outside through out the house and if one of the breakers are tripped it stops the flow and you wont have any power going to that designated point. Our text tells us that we are to love other as we love ourselves. We are God’s extension of love to others here on the earth. By that I mean that God loves others through us and is showing His love to us the same way. When life’s petty little irritants arise don’t let them allow you to break the circuit of God’s love flowing through you. This is when you have to say to yourself and the situations around you “Peace, be still” (Mark 4:39) and stay in love. Be on guard for your responses to people. You don’t want to be reactionary just responsive, with the wisdom that comes from God and His word in your heart (Proverbs 4:5-6 AMP). As you go through your day today keep the love of God in the forefront of your heart and mind and don’t break the circuit.
