Matthew 6:31 Therefore do not worry and be anxious, saying, What are we going to have to eat? or, What are we going to have to drink? or, What are we going to have to wear?
In chapter 6 we find Jesus continuing teaching the people about life and the kingdom (Matthew 5), where he basically covers every area of life. Now we find Him talking about worry (Matthew 6:25-33). Let’s look at some of the things He told them not to get anxious or worried about. When it comes to clothing and food (6:25) He asks them isn’t your life worth more than that? If God feeds the birds (6:26) aren’t you better or more important to Him? Worrying won’t help you grow one inch physically (6:27) or put clothes on your body, just look at the lilies of the field (6:28) and how God takes care of them. God knows that you‘ll need all of these things and He doesn’t want you to worry about it (6:31-32). All we have to do is seek the kingdom (6:33) and those things and more will be given to us, so don’t worry about it!
